Joe grew up in the Midwest and attended Oklahoma University earning a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His first job was with Lawrence Radiation Laboratory in Livermore, California where he received a Top Security clearance and worked under Dr. Teller (Father of the Atomic bomb) in the research and development of a non Nuclear Reaction Device. He later transferred to Sandia Corporation in Albuquerque, New Mexico to work on the same type of project. In the mid 60’s he moved back to California and worked as a Consulting Design Engineer in the Silicon Valley until he started his Real Estate Career in 1971.
Joe’s hobbies have always been anything to do with cars or motorcycles. He raced sports cars in California in the 60’s and later began Off Road Racing. He won the Mint 400 Off Road Race in Las Vegas in his class. He raced the Baja 500 and was leading in his class until a broken suspension part left him with a 10th place finish.
Joe currently enjoys riding his Harley and spends any spare time building Street Rods and restoring Classic Cars. His current projects include a 1966 Shelby Cobra Roadster, a 1932 Chevy Pro Street Pick-up, a 1947 Chrysler Windsor Sedan, a 1951 Ford 2-door Sedan, a 1926 Model T Coupe, and a 1995 Boss Hoss Motorcycle with a 425 HP Chevy V-8 Engine.
Joe’s love of Motorcycles and leading tours throughout the Western United States & Canada has led to his partnering up with two good friends to run Sawtooth Motorcycle Tours, LLC.
