Tour Information:
This tour is being offered beginning June 2008. We will spend 10 days on the road and 11 nights lodging. We want everyone well rested for the trip, especially our international guests. The day prior to the tour start we will arrange for your pickup from the Boise airport, check into the hotel, visit local wine country for casual tasting (shuttle provided), and the High Desert Harley-Davidson® Dealer to complete all rental arrangements. In the evening we will gather for our first group dinner where everyone will meet, be provided with detailed trip and safety information, answer any questions, introduce your guides, and have a great time.

Hotel Information:
Our typical lodging will be as up scale as the geographic area we visit will allow. Part of the allure of this tour is to actually experience the “rugged west”. Some small towns we visit are very rustic. Accommodations can be sparse. Within the Parks, the management takes great pride in maintaining the facilities as it was 100 years ago. That may mean no phones, no TV, no air-conditioning. It can be a rough life but nothing a real biker cannot handle. Then again, we stay in a few places that are simply outstanding. It is all part of the adventure. One word of caution, by law, most establishments in the USA are designated as non-smoking.

Virtually every road we will travel on this 10-day trip has been designated as scenic. This is some of the greatest motorcycle riding you will ever do. You will see world famous sites like the stunning Sawtooth mountains and Redfish Lake, Sun Valley where the world’s first chair lift was installed, the Craters of the Moon National Monument where President Calvin Coolidge declared it to be an “unusual and weird volcanic formation”. We will ride through Jackson, WY the gateway to Teton and Yellowstone Parks.
The Grand Teton National Park is nestled at the foot of towering mountains, where you will discover the spirit of America as you ride your Harley-Davidson® through an area rich with history and excitement, view sweeping vistas and magnificent wildlife, while you journey through this vast unspoiled wilderness. As we dine for lunch at the Jackson Lodge you will have an unobstructed view of the Tetons’ in all their splendor.
In Yellowstone Park the majestic mountains, rolling rivers, the gushing geysers, and herds of bison dot the countryside on nature’s most awe-inspiring landscape for motorcycle adventures. You will visit the Canyons, Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs, and ride along one of the largest natural fresh water lakes in North America. Enjoy an "Old West" chow down as we journey on horse drawn wagons to the campsite for dinner like the pioneers of the last century.
We will visit Cody, WY and attend a cowboy rodeo in the evening. Soon we are up and over the famous “Beartooth Scenic Highway” where we spend the night in historic Red Lodge. Some riding time spent on one of the most beautiful interstate highways in North America as we travel to Butte, MT along Interstate 90. The next day we will follow Lewis and Clark as we traverse Lolo Pass. It would be difficult to find a better road to ride a motorcycle on.
We are heading home along the Clearwater Scenic Byway, to Riggins, also known as the Whitewater capital of Idaho, where we will do a half-day float on the Salmon River. Then on our last leg, we experience a trucker’s nightmare, as we ride the old Whitebird grade. They say if you connected all of the hairpin turns together you can make over 30 complete circles while traversing several thousand feet down the grade. Our last 150 miles of the tour will be through the little town of McCall and then back to Boise along the Payette Scenic Byway.
