Leave Meridian via the Payette River Scenic Byway through Horseshoe Bend, Cascade, McCall, Riggins, Old White Bird Hill.  Lodge at the award winning Super 8 in Grangeville.  We enjoy Prime Rib dinner within walking distance of the motel.

Grangeville, Idaho to Clarkston, Washington (the long way) – 170 Miles / 260 Kilometers:                             Leave Grangeville for Orofino via State HW-13, which intersects with the Northwest Passage Scenic Byway (HW-12) at Kooskia.  While in Orofino we will visit the Dworshak Dam visitor center.  From Orofino we will take the CR-P1 road to Kendrick, ID then drop back down to HW-12 to pick up HW-95 South to Culdasac and experience one more old grade that used to be HW-95.  A short backtrack on 95 and then we will take Webb Road into Lewiston.  There we will check into our hotel, and for those who have not twisted enough for one day we will head up the Old Spiral Highway (Lewiston Grade) and back to Lewiston via the new HW-95 where we will eat dinner and spend the night.

Day 3)

Clarkston, Washington to Baker, Oregon – 246 Miles / 380 Kilometers:
From the Clarkston area we head south on WA-129, known to the locals as Rattlesnake Grade, to Enterprise, OR where we will stop for lunch and do a little sight seeing of the surrounding area.  Wallowa Lake and Joseph are great little tourist communities.  Then we are off to Oxbow, OR via OR-39, another great little known road invented for the motorcycle.  We will stop along the way for some breath taking views of Hells Canyon.  From Oxbow we will take HW-86 into Baker for our dinner and evening stay over.

Day 4) Baker, Oregon to Meridian, Idaho (the scenic way) – 265 Miles / 410 Kilometers:
From Baker City we will head north on the old HW-30, over Elkhorn Summit via HW-73and into Sumpter, OR.  Then pick up OR-7 to HW-26 at Austin where we head East through the small towns of Unity, Vale, and Nyssa, OR as we reenter Idaho to our final destination of Meridian.  We will then enjoy a goodbye celebration dinner and share our stories of the ride.
